This chapter described how a project is started. The first step is to define the project goal and the next is to evaluate the feasibility of achieving this goal.
The chapter outlined methods used to define the goal and evaluate its feasibility, and explained the necessity of proposing a number of broad solutions and then evaluating the technical, operational and economic feasibility. The most satisfactory of these solutions is then selected for implementation. The final step of the feasibility analysis is to develop an implementation plan for the project. They make everyone aware of what is going on in the department.
