            This chapter described methods used to gather information about a system. It described a number of important points to remember when organizing a search for information about a system. There are many information sources and none of these should be overlooked in the search. Several different search methods can be used, although this chapter concentrated mostly on one important method, the interview.

 

            Finally, the chapter considered how to plan a search strategy and examined the differences between search strategies where there is an existing system and those where there is no existing system.
