Mena Trott

Cofounder, Six Apart

Six apart was founded in 2001 by Mena Trott and Ben Trott.

The idea came from Trott’s personal blog, they were not satisfied with the blogging software available so they develop their own site.

The problem that this startup encountered is not hiring people in doing the type pad, movable pad which actually killed them. Another problem is the shipping on hardware.

People used their product because blogging helps people to communicate each other and it help them to have many friends.

If I were on the founders shoes I would still do the same thing they does because I know it will help people a lot.

I think it is possible in the third world country because money is not the main problem.

Things that I learned:

The things I learned from this startup are:

  • It is created because of Mena’s dissatisfied with the blogging at that tine.

  • Mena want to have a fiend so they try this startup.

  • Mena once want to quit because of the hard thing in this work.
