Case Study23

David Heinemeier Hansson

Partner, 37signals

37 signals is a web shop founded by Jason Frieds and David Heinemeier Hansson as Fried partner. It is founded on 1999. It is a consulting company which turns into a product company.

Basecamp was created because of the idea of trying to apply blogging into a project management tool. In 2004 it is release as an open source web development framework.

After doing 37 signals Hansson founded Ruby on Rails.

One of the problems that this start up encountered is that they didn’t consider a time zone which causes them a delay on their product, and I run for the longest time that everybody is in standard time.

People use their product because it is so simple to use

The impact of their company to the history is when Hansson started another company which is called Ruby on rails.

The unique thing in this startup when they focus on what they are doing this involves decision making.

If I were on the founder shoes I would do the same thing they which is focusing on what product you do.

This start up would be possible to a third world country if there are people like them who focused on the thing that they do.

Thins that I learned:

From this start up I learned that you really need to focus on the product you are doing for you to be able to have a good product.

I also learn that basecamp was for creative services form.
