            Before he was an employee of Intel but he got bored and send a resume for Google. for you to be in success you have to be different you have to be risk-averse.  Even you have all resources you should not be contended it is risky that might result to disappointment  Give importance to it.

Don’t just ignore what you are doing because it might result to something so useful.

 

            He was 23rd employee of Google. The developer and leader of G-mail. It is the web-based e-mail system that is now called as Web 2.0.  He develop the first prototype of Ad sense. The advertisement for other site.  He started the motto “Don’t be evil”.

 

            In 1996 Paul Buccheit started on email software as a project.  He started to call G-mail in what he’s doing but not totally predecessor to G-mail.  After the Google groups he was asked to build an email or a personalization product.  He created the 1st version of G-mail in just a day.  His version want to create a better e-mail program and build something that would allow someone to search through their e-mail.  He choose to do this because his company is so in love in e-mail and Paul receives 500 mails everyday.  This version allows you to search for the keywords, the sendecs etc.  Sanjeev Singh, someone who work with Paul in G-mail, their work result to something new so they took a long time. Jing Lim started to work with them but the progression was slow.  The challenging part for them is when they give everyone a gigabyte, by that time 204 megabyte was the standard.  People think that it was just a joke.  In able to create a system you must have several copies, several machines are in need so they create the gigabyte.  They create interface by Java Script, people thought that it was just for advertising but still they create different techniques and end up to features. The best feature for that is the auto complete, it is when you type the e-mail address.  The new feature was conversation view.  It is when you get all messages as cards instead of separate e-mails.  They wanted to create chat and IM’s but it didn’t include to the launch so what they did is the e-mail from a chat perspective.

           

Everyday they are in need of programmers because they operate big service.  The G-mail has code name “Caribou” it came from the Dilbert cartoon.  The darkest day for them is when controversial occur, system problem internally.  Even they have dark days the brightest is launching.

           

G-mail is not only invitation but also you can sign up through cellphone.  Students also can sign up.  Invitation- only sign up is for people who don’t want to lose any data.  Having a start up to a big company is a lot of advantage because you have all the resources and a lot of people will be given to work w/ you.  They didn’t receive Google’s founders avard but thy got founders grant which for the is more important. Their famous motto “Don’t be evil” came from their decision about the company’s value in the early 2000.  Amit patel started writing the motto everywhere in their building.

           

G-mail was controversial because people around it didn’t like changes but Paul was so interested to new features.  Even there is a lot of people contradicting it, the world easily embraces these changes.  The Adsense idea is also controversial because everyone hated it and they didn’t like the concept but still people use it.  His investors was Larry and Sergey who is very open to new and crazy things.  Paul advices people working on big companies to try change the culture of the whole company.
