Role of System Analyst
The System Analysis asses function of businesses by examining the input and processing of data and output information. It is also said the analyst must be able to work to others and experienced working with computers. As a system analyst you must recognize that your presence changes the business and use it as a starting point for your analysis. The analyst roles are consultant, supporting expert, and expert agent of change.
Systems Analyst as a Consultant
They are agent to a business. They set as to address information Systems issues with in a business. They can give you different perspective. They will also help you to understand organizational culture from other view points.
Systems Analyst as a Supporting Expert
They are identified as an analyst that draws on professional expertise concerning computer hardware and software and uses in business. They are also known to be a resource for others.
Systems Analyst as a Change Agent
Among all the roles of a system analyst, it is the most wide-ranging and responsible role wether internal or external to the business. They are also known as person who serves as a catalyst for change, develops a plan for change, and works with others facilitating the change. You are also a advocator of change involving the use of information systems.
Qualities of a System Analyst
The system analyst must be a self-disciplined, self-motivated individual who is able to manage and coordinate innumerable project resources, including other people. The person who sees the analysis of problems as a challenge and enjoys modifying workable solutions. They should be communicator that is capable of relating to other people over periods of time. They are also in need enough of computer experience to program, understand the capabilities of computer and communicate what is in need to programmers.
