Selection of Projects:

In selecting of projects came to different sources but not all should be selected. We should remember that recommending a systems study that gives a problem will help in improvement. The project which is under consideration is nota good proposal because it might not be accepted and will damage the name of the company.

Prospective projects are need to be inspected from systems perspective because it reflects on the entire organization. Like in the subsystems of one organization they are interrelated or interdependent so that changes of any subsystem will not affect the other systems.

Five Criteria for Project Selection:

1.      Backing from Management

It is the endorsement of people. This is to help in accomplishing a project. This does not tells that you look in introducing your project to the company. It is essential to a management so that a project will be known to the public.

2.      Timing of project commitment

It is important to have a timing for your people and for the company to be involved in the industry if everyone is willing to be full time in creating a new system or just modifying the previous system. If the system is not in time for the season it might crash.

3.      Improving attainment of organizational goals

Any project should be organize on target from the goal. Being organize will not give a company any problem. it will lessen the problems that will occur.

4.      Practical term of resources for the system analyst and organization

A company must recognize projects that does not a company’s expertise. A project that does not belong or fit to them.

5.      Worth while project compared with other ways the organization could invest resources.

A company or an organization have to agree on worthiness of a system project. If a company deals with a project it means dealing to a resources of the project will lead to the loss of availability of the resources for others. Therefore, every projects will be competing for business resources at time, money, and people.
